Top 5 Alabang-Las Piñas to Manila buses (with matrix included)

5:15 PM

When it comes to commuting from Manila to Las Pinas or Alabang, riding buses seem to be the most popular choice among commuters. But not all buses are the same, and almost everyone has their own fair share of bus-commuting experiences.

So we made a list of buses to pick and compared each and everyone of them, for convenience.
*Note that the buses we listed are based from our experience, so feel free to share your own!

1. Tas Trans : Fast and Furious

Behold, the king of the buses. Tas Trans, without a doubt, tops our list of being the fastest and most convenient bus in the South. The same goes for Bensan and San Agustin. We couldn't stress enough the amount of times Tas Trans had saved us from being late to school.

2. Erjohn and Almark : Automated tickets ftw

Most students would agree that Erjon and Almark buses are more spacious and comfortable compared to their bus counterparts. Some of these buses also have "high-tech" ticketing machine, unlike the usual de papel-ipit sa upuan tickets. Sadly for other Southies, Erjohn and Almark now only operates to and from Cavite. You will be missed.

3. Funride Transport Corp. : Your average joe

Formerly called as WLLH and WLH and Maggi liner, Funride is best known as the "gateway to SM Southmall", due to its terminal being, well, in SM Southmall. Although the bus is slightly dirtier compared to other leading buses, Funride still makes it to the third spot due to its convenience and sheer number of available buses.

4. Igan : Mr. Congeniality

Aka the "friendliest bus of the South", Igan ensures that almost everyone rides their bus before entering the Cavitex. Their seats are not recommended for tall people due to the buses' limited leg space. They're quite dirty as well, considering the amount of infamous stories we've heard from fellow commuters. But some still find Igan as an okay bus, not the best though.

5. Reinalyn : Reyna ng Lawton

Without a doubt, Reinalyn trips are best fitted to people who don't go down at ATC. Being one of the buses which operates to and from Lawton, most people would find Reinalyn convenient and a smart choice. However, most of the buses we rode are either untidy and slow; especially in Coastal. We've experienced having to wait for two red lights before the bus finally decided to move. There were also a few cases of snatching and holdup stories, but it's not limited to Reinalyn buses. Overall, it's always best to be careful and be wary of your belongings regardless of the bus.

Evia: The next big thing in Las Piñas

7:42 PM
Evia Lifestyle Center is an upscale commercial center located along Daang Hari Road. It's the perfect hangout on a lazy Sunday afternoon, with its beautiful outdoor scenery and famous shops and restaurants. Evia suits every yuppies' taste, especially with its relaxing environment and stylish coffee shops.

Beautiful open center inside an air-conditioned glass dome

New shops such as Uniqlo and Mango (Oct 2, 2017)

Breathtaking view of Evia's fountain and its European-styled architecture

More European-styled architecture inside, Mama Lou's and TGIF

Relaxing outdoors, Burger King and Shakey's

Overall, we think Evia is one of the must visit places in the South. Who would've thought a beautiful commercial paradise was hidden in Las Piñas? Even though Evia's still developing as more shops are to open soon, there are still plenty of choices available. Not to mention the picturesque scenery and architecture the place has to offer! Better visit this hidden gem soon before everybody else does!

Have you visited Evia? Share your thoughts below! And don't forget to like our Facebook!

9 things only Southies would understand

7:55 PM
1. One word: Alabang-Zapote

Or two. Just when you thought you escaped the Makati/Manila traffic, there's always Alabang-Zapote to ruin your day. Please don't become EDSA of the South.

2. South = Province

Just because we have more green spaces, lesser buildings, and a few province-like scenery does not make us a province. So what if we're far? So what if we're closer to SLEX? We're also part of the NCR too you know.

*Well, except for the cases of Cavite and Laguna... we still southies tho.

3. Expensive tollgates

One of the main reasons why our North friends refuse to visit us, or why we Southies would rather miss out an event in QC is because of the expensive tollgates! Skyway, we still love you.

4. Alabang is the Makati of the South

Almost everything you have in Makati, we have in Alabang. We would rather spend the weekend in Alabang Town Center than go to Greenbelt.

5. We love house parties

Probably because most of the cool bars are in Makati/BGC and we're too lazy to go there (and going home after midnight is a pain for us). But because of this, we know how to host amazing house parties!

We do, however, have other bars that can match those in BGC. Valk, matakot na kayo.

6. Southies love to wear shorts

It's like an unspoken dress code among us.  Don't forget the tsinelas!
But seriously, maybe it's because we're more chill.

According to our research, 2 out of 7 Southies wear pants and leggings (jk tho)

7. Getting Uber or Grabcar from Makati was never a choice unless you're desperate

Especially on Friday rush hours! P800 to Las Pinas? No thanks!

Uber on a Thursday morning

8. We actually appreciate being near everywhere

Tagaytay and Nuvali? No problem, we're close to SLEX. NAIA? No problem, it's basically in Paranaque. Taft? No problem, it's one bus away. Makati? No problem, it's one FX away. MOA? City of Dreams? Solaire? You bet we're close!

9. Most of all, we're very close to our friends and family!

I mean, we all live one tricycle away! House parties are never hard to attend to! And asking friends for food trips is a lot easier!
